Seriously though, I don't think I've left my house in like a month. We went to beautiful yellowstone in the midst of the power editing i've been doing. By no means am I complaining. I love being busy and we most definitely are. We have two big weddings coming up this week followed by 2 big family sessions so I will probably see ya'll next year! LOL. I don't mind being home. The kids are comfortable and can play in a familiar setting while I sit on the computer in my jammies and handle business. We just added a second camera, lens, flash and pelican case to our business. These big sessions are too much for one person to handle. Mike and I can get it done now in half the time with 2 cameras.
I can see why adults with kids don't really have a lot of friends. My parents don't really have a a lot of friends and I can see why; especially if you have more than one kid. Toting around one kid isn't so bad but two? It's a lot of work. I feel like I haven't seen many people outside of my own house in awhile. I've been keeping activities close to home because it's convenient for me and I don't have to pack like we're going to Zimbabwe. Let's face it...Mike works his ass off so if i'm doing anything during the day I'm doing it alone with 2 very full hands. I just hope my friends understand. I'm not trying to blow you off, I just literally have no time for shit. I barely have time to shave my legs. I don't know what I'm gonna do when it's time to go back to school. Full time this fall! Yikes! We usually limit our bookings in the winter because of school and also because a lot of people don't like to be outside in the cold. I'm not a fan of indoor shooting or artificial light so it works out.
I've got another month before school starts and I'm trying to work out a schedule with myself to manage my time better. I need to set aside time for school, homework, photography, dinner, kid stuff etc... I'm may stay home, but essentially i'm working full time. It's nice to be my own boss though. It's what i've always wanted and my degree is just going to harness more skills to grow the business. I'm already doing some design stuff for clients and I really enjoy it.

5 Years
It has been 5 wonderful years since I sat up til 6 in the morning talking to Mike in the street at my parents house. I didn't know it then but I was falling in love with him right then and there. It wasn't until the next day that I felt it. I still remember that day like it was yesterday because that is the day that my life changed. That was the day that I took a good long look at myself and my life and realized I wanted more. I knew that more included Mike. He was no longer that cute kid I crushed on when I 14. He was a man ( a handsome, kind, intelligent one) looking for the same things I was and I knew I had to to come back home to be with him.
Today is the 5th anniversary of my leaving Arizona. I quit both of my jobs, left my best friend and my skiddish past behind. I was done partying and dating. I wanted to have a relationship. I hadn't been excited about anything or anyone for such a long time. Did I want to come back to Utah? Hell no... Mike was here so that's where I wanted to be. A 15 hour drive in a Uhaul with my Car hitched in back and I was home.
We've been together ever since.
I can't believe 5 years has passed already. A marriage and 2 kids later and I still get butterflies from him.
I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

8 Months
My sweet JoJo is 8 months old. When he's not eating everything in site, he is grabbing everything, pulling everything, pull himself up to stand, crawling like a champ, clapping, waving bye-bye shaking his head no, laughing, crying, saying Dada, rolling across the room and getting bigger and bigger everyday.
He is attached to mom's hip and has officially moved up to 9 month clothing (some 12) and size 4 diapers. (Coen never made it past a 3)
I love my big happy boy. Getting so big, so fast!

Yellowstone
For my birthday my dear sweet husband gifted me with a vacation to Yellowstone. It's been on my bucket list. We left late Wednesday night. We decided to stay up after our 11pm soccer game and just make the drive. I didn't think Mike could hang pulling an all nighter, but we picked up a few energy drinks and had a fun little drive. We watched the sun come up. The boys were troopers and slept pretty much the entire way.
We were pretty exhausted when we arrived at 9am and we couldn't check in until 11 so we got some breakfast, some coffee and headed into Yellowstone. What a beautiful place! Trees, upon trees, upon trees. The first few minutes in we saw a bull elk grazing. It looked like a friggin post card. There were Bison just chillin in the street and lots of little squirrels and Moose. It just looked so picturesque. Almost untouched by man. The little hot pots were cool. Old Faithful was alright, not as cool as I imagine, but worth the visit. We saw some of the biggest waterfalls I've ever seen. I mean like straight out of a movie! In utah we have these cute little trickley, cascading waterfalls...this was like a 600 ft drop waterfall. Absolutely beautiful. The grand Canyon of Yellowstone was pretty breathtaking too. I've never been to the Grand Canyon so this is the next best thing.
We camped in a little KOA for a few nights. It had a cute little pool and they served breakfast and dinner everynight. I had some of the best Salmon ever. We roasted Marshmallows, read and sang songs around the campfire.
The last day we went to BearWorld. We were going to drive up to Boiling River near North Entrance Yellowstone, but the kids were pretty sick of being in carseats by that point so we left and arrived at Bearworld around 1 pm. We had paid for a bearcub feeding at 5pm and we couldn't reschedule so we ended up chillin there for 4 hours. I definitely saw enough of bearworld for the rest of my life. It was cool to see bears up close and personal but it definitely reminded me of the possum place in A Goofy Movie. Coen loved the petting zoo and riding the 4 rides over and over. After about an hour we were hot and ready to be home.
Overall it was a great trip. Nice to have some quality alone time with each other in a new setting. We will definitely go back.
I'll post lots of pics later....

TwEnTy 9
Well folks, today is my 29th birthday.
I promised myself that this year I wouldn't be sad.
Since my 27th birthday there seems to be this kind of sadness about me on my birthday.
Not because i'm older, but because lost time cannot be found.
Not only am I getting older but so is everyone else. My parents, my husband, my siblings, my friends, my kids...
Time is just slipping through my fingers.
Am I doing everything to make the most of my life? My time?
I should definitely sleep less....but man I love some sleep!
This past year I have had some things to be proud of. I gave birth to a beautiful healthy little boy(whom is now 7 months), I got to be Coen's mom for another year and I have delighted in the little character my son has become. I am filled with pride and adoration. This is the 5th birthday Mike and I have celebrated together. My birthday always reminds me of when we first met(the 2nd time) It was day after my birthday when he came over and we talked in the street until we finally had to sit down. That was the day I fell in love with my husband. I also got through another year of school and finally passed math and got my associate's degree. I ran my 7th 5k. I ran a successful Photography Business for the 2nd year.. June is a good month. It finally gets hot enough to wear shorts and swimming pools are finally open.
Overall I'm happy. I feel extremely blessed to have made it to another year and can hardly believe i'm in the last year of my 20s. I still feel like I have so much that I want to do and accomplish but I am pleased with my small accomplishments over the past year.
Cheers to my 29th Year!

Plated
Am I a chef? Hell no! Do I like food? Hells yes! I cook pretty much every day and I've been getting bored with our regular menu.
One day while wasting time on facebook I came across a little sponsored ad for Plated. If you want all the beautifully descriptive paragraphs filled with delicious adjectives describing what it is...click on the link.
I on the other hand will sum it up: You browse through and choose recipes you like, you pick 4 (minimum 4 plates per order) and you order. Plated ships all of the ingredients and instructions to your doorstep in pretty little ice cooled box and you cook it and eat it.
Pretty simple.
Essentially it saves you from grocery shopping. You are paying for convenience. This month it's for a good cause though. If you know about (RED) you know that the money from partnerships goes to the global AIDs fund and HIV/AIDs programs in Africa. From June 1st-10th Plated has teamed up with (RED) and your purchase will be for benefit.
Click the link for more details.
If you know me at all, you know I will go to 5 different stores to save $5 so this is definitely a one time deal for me. I got the trial package. 4 meals for $20. Otherwise you pay $10 for membership ontop of about $15 per plate (remember 4 plate minimum) which is roughly half of my grocery budget for the month. The meal was good but not $50 good. $50 good is when I don't have to cook it...and it comes with a glass of wine.
Was it fun? Yes! Food delivered to my door could never be a bad thing. Any kind of package makes me happy really. Will I pay the 5 (Martin Lawrence reference) to continue? Probably not. I could probably look up the recipes myself and just get the stuff at the grocery store. They are not super complicated meals. And...no leftovers! What??? This is a home built on leftovers! But...if you feel like getting in on the fun, they are still offering the 4 meals for $20. It certainly made for a fun blog post and it was fun to break up the meal monotony.
Meal 1: Swordfish with Spicy Mango Salsa and Israeli Couscous
What's not pictured is all the chopping. Everything came whole and very fresh.
