11 Months

Coen is 11 months today! 1 month away from being one! A month goes by so fast, you hardly realize that a year has passed.  This month Coen has finally taken a few steps. He started with 2, then 3 then 5 the other day he took about 10. It's crazy. He's still pretty wobbly  and he gets nervous if he sees us watching. I get so excited though! He was just this lil guy, all bundled up, no longer than my forearm and now he's trying to walk! :'( He will officially be a toddler. He has started to throw little tantrums, which I can't stand. Definitely time for discipline. I wish I could just sit down and reason with him..."Like, for real....is it really necessary to scream like that because you want more?" Can you imagine if as adults we still acted like that? OMG...The world would so much more entertaining.  He's good most days though. I'm trying to teach him some signs like "eat, please, more, potty" etc.. So far the only sign he's picked up is "more." (Obviously this kid can't get enough of anything!)  If you've noticed I've got a chunky boy and he definitely understands "more!" He's become quite independent. He does not want me to spoon feed him, he will feed himself. Even if it's friggin nasty runny oatmeal which means its all over him and me and usually the floor.  I'm trying to incorporate more finger foods for him. He loves grapes, bananas, cheese etc... He still has no teeth though. Poor kid has to gum everything to death, but I guess next month at his 1 yr appt we'll see what the hell is going on. I would hate for him to start cutting 8 teeth at once. They may have to sedate bot of us until that shit is over with.  Everyone says it means he's healthy so I'll just pretend they know what they're talking about to make me feel better. Speaking of Dr. Appt, his 1 year appt is ON his birthday. Shots and the whole shebang. Terrible huh? To make up for it i've given into the idea of having a little birthday party for him on the 20th. Nothing to big or fancy. A lil cake smash and maybe some pizzas, scary movies. It is October after-all.  His attention span is getting longer. We've incorporated some Disney movies and "Signing Time" into his daily activities. He's still really attached to me, but I figure I'd better relish it now before this kid says, "ugh mom, get away!" LOL
